This weekend marks the kickoff of the 44th Annual Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest. In writing about that, the post was so long – it became the Big Bear Times first ” Big Bear Weekend Update Extra”. Click here to read all about the Oktoberfest!
So what else is going on? The days are starting to get a bit shorter, there is a bit of a chilly snap in the evenings and mornings. Going for a hike, enjoying the lake or just going for a walk is highly recommended. Just a safety reminder, check the weather first as downpours can happen this time of year. Usually a little rain is welcome, but we do get flash floods in certain areas, if it is raining, and the creek is dry, stay an the trail. Also, be wary of lightning during the fall storms, I have seen it hit water and trees here.
As Oktoberfest gets started, Friday Nights in The Village is winding down. You only have this Friday and next to catch local bands playing outside.
